Overview
Hakuba Norikura is a welcoming resort in the northern portion of Hakuba Valley, cherished for its wide, gentle slopes that make it ideal for beginners and families. The resort receives heavy snowfall thanks to its proximity to the Sea of Japan, and the snow quality is consistently excellent. With 14 courses served by 9 lifts, Norikura offers a relaxed skiing experience without the crowds often found at the larger Hakuba resorts.
The resort connects to neighboring Hakuba Cortina, and adventurous skiers can venture between the two areas for a varied day on the mountain. Norikura is also home to a popular snow play area for young children. After skiing, visitors can soak in the Hakuba Norikura Onsen, a natural hot spring located at the base of the resort. The area retains a quiet, traditional Japanese mountain village atmosphere.
