Overview
Hakuba Happo-one is the crown jewel of Hakuba Valley and one of Japan's most celebrated ski resorts. As the venue for the downhill, super-G, and combined events at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, Happo-one boasts world-class terrain across 13 courses. The resort's vertical drop of over 1,000 meters and sweeping panoramic views of the Northern Japan Alps make it a destination of choice for advanced and intermediate skiers alike.
The resort features a gondola and multiple high-speed quad lifts that efficiently move skiers to the upper mountain. The legendary Usagi Daira area offers some of the best expert terrain in Japan, while the lower mountain provides gentler slopes for beginners. Off the slopes, Hakuba village offers a vibrant apres-ski scene with excellent restaurants, bars, and numerous natural hot spring baths. The resort is easily accessible from Tokyo via shinkansen and express bus.
